Party time

And after the graduation day… party time! First, the 26th I went with my parents, my sister Roberta, his boyfriend Ivan and my friend Davide to a wonderful restaurant in a little town of Como’s Lake, a really nice dinner with a cake (tiramisu) that was, trust me, amazing. Then , the day after I had to open a bottle of champagne saved by my father for this “event”. And friday I went with my friend in an ice cream shop (gelateria) to eat a cake and to open another bottle of champagne. Tough days…

Just call me Simone

A lot of people yesterday started to call me “Engineer” or “Doctor”. Ok, it’s nice, but really, just call me Simone. I don’t think it’s a title that makes difference, but it’s who you are that is the important thing. So, even if I graduated, I’m still Simone, the same person you know, the same as all of you knew and, maybe, appreciated before. So, continue to call me Simone, as you did until now…

And the day has come...

And at the end I graduated. It was a long period of study, a lot of time spent reading and understanding books, concepts, but at the end my M.Sc. degree arrived. Yesterday was a long day. I woke up at 6 a.m. to go to Milano, and I arrived there at 9.30 a.m. (there was a strike of railway workers, so the traffic was more than during normal days) . My professor, obviously, didn’t loose the opportunity to blame me for this, even if my discussion was scheduled at 10.15 a.m….But anyway, I gave my speech during the presentation, it was ok, even if there was a background noise too loud (Italian people don’t respect too much people speaking, unfortunately…). The degree was given me in the afternoon, and it was a moment in which I felt proud of me and, at the same time, relaxed and free. Then, there was a wonderful dinner in a lovely place in Como’s lake with my parents, my sister Roberta, her boyfriend Ivan and my friend Davide.

And now in Italy

It was sad to leave Finland, for many reasons…But I have to graduate the 26th of July, so, maybe my presence for the discussion is needed…
Anyway, I want to let you see how my sister and his boyfriend received me at Milano airport last thursday. In the picture you can see the poster they wrote for me. I was a little bit embarrassed, as you can imagine, it seems that I was coming back from Mars…Ok, maybe they were right, there is something in common, I think, between Mars and Finland, even if I visited only the last one…Surely in Mars there are not potatoes, at least not every day…It’s my opinion, because if the Martians are so intelligent , they should avoid to cultivate these funny vegetables…
Anyway, now I’m in Italy, I don’t know for how long, at least until September. First I have to get my M.Sc., then I have to rest (eh eh, holydays…) and finally I have to work for my professor a bit.
See you, guys…
